Doxie Doll burst into existence one stormy, lighteningy night, when she tripped and fell down that wormhole full of clocks and landed in a glittery world of sexy Power Rangers and double-sided tape.
Since that day, she has found herself playing a host of characters, including the dashing Prince Humperdinck, the off-key Snow White, the confused Philip J Fry, the badass Crystal Gem Amethyst, and her personal hero: the smart, strong, and sensual Tina Belcher.
She loves adventuring with her funny, nerdy, clever friends here at Plan 9, and looks forward to the day we develop time travel technology so she can go back and join up all over again.
If you want to start a conversation with Doxie, ask her what she’s reading this week, or mention Firefly. Seriously, just say “hey I liked that Firefly show” or “what’s your favorite thing about Firefly?” and you’ll be friends for life.
Plan 9 Questionnaire
- How did you get started in Burlesque and Plan 9?
My friend Right This Way Robbie convinced me to try out for this Power Rangers burlesque show he was directing, so I did, and then Stella Cheeks thought I had potential (and taught me the most important rule of burlesque dancing, and possibly life as well: when in doubt, touch yourself).
- Is there a story behind your burlesque name?
The double D’s just sort of fit, you know?
- What is your favorite number?
Tina Belcher, hands down. Or perhaps more appropriately, butts down.
- If you could be any fictional character who would you be and why?
Aeryn Sun, Farscape: super capable badass, gorgeous hair, and she gets to make out with John Crichton.
- What’s one thing people may be surprised to learn about you?
I can name every family of mammal on Earth. Give me a mammal, I’ll tell you its family and order. Seriously, try me.
- Where else can people find your work?
In Cleveland (which rocks, for the record)!
- Trek vs Wars
Next Generation, always and forever.
- DC vs Marvel
Marvel - Jessica Jones is the best!
- Harry Potter vs Twilight
Harry Potter, Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite book.
- Doctor Who vs James Bond
Doctor Who, Ninth Doctor.
- What is your dream nerdlesque number?
Someday I am going to figure out how to do the most kickass Stargate SG-1 number anyone has EVER SEEN.
